First one up is to paint something - anything - which begins with an A
So here you go..
A is for Anchor

the photo I used as reference came from the wonderful free to use photo site for artists  Photos4Artists

  1. Wow - Pat, this is really good! The anchor is most definitely the focus of the painting and you have cleverly captured the texture of the grasses behind and the distant water without distracting from it. Really, really great! :0)

  5. Thanks, Sandra - keeping the anchor as the focus was exactly what I was aiming for! Glad you think I achieved it. xx

Thanks, Elsbeth - glad you like the feel of the piece xx

Thanks, Tito. All through the alphabet I'd like to throw in a few that wouldn't be a first thought for the letter. xx

And good evening to you, Francesco! Thanks for the compliment on the anchor. It is a good idea, the alphabet paintings - at least I'll have 26 ideas to paint! :) xx

  6. Oh, this sounds like a fun challenge!!

I love this painting. I've always had a huge respect for the sea. Beautiful yet something to be feared. Kind of like God, huh? Our anchor.

    xx
